A LIVE REVIEW OF THE BULLETPROOF BOMB - 11/02/2016

The boys.
THE BULLETPROOF BOMB entertained Sheffield's intimate The Rocking Chair as they kick-started their 'Drop the Bomb' tour. It was excellent to finally get to see the South London based five-piece in an actual venue as the first time I saw them was at Leeds Festival in 2015 when they hit the Festival Republic Tent.
A mixture of songs were played, some already released, some from the new EP which is expected hopefully in about two months time and some which are unreleased and are not present on the new EP which I am hoping will be released later on at some point.

Right from the off the boys showed me exactly why I had wished to see them live again, their performance never for a second lacks passion and energy. This is displayed in their incredible stage presence which is shown by them making vast use of all the space they have, even the floor in front of the stage which frontman Joel took full advantage of.

Opening moments.

The set started with one of their first written songs, Suitcase, so unsurprisingly this is one of their most well-known, due to that and its poppy nature it made for the perfect way to get the crowd moving and singing along.

After 'Siege' was played, Joel asked the crowd to move further forward which made the intimate gig even more so.
The new songs came thick and fast as the band continued through their set which included their song 'Little Miss London' which is now available to stream on soundcloud and is to be on their new EP. This song and Siege paint the picture of life as an underage teenager living in Suburbia.

Little Miss London.

Finishing their set was their infamous 'Five Green Bottles' which gave for an explosive ending.

After the gig the band hung around and spoke to those who had come to see them. When we were outside the venue just before we left so were the boys, Robbie and Tom asked us if we had seen them before. When I said I had seen them at Leeds Festival, Robbie asked if I thought they were better on that night or at the festival. I think their Leeds set was really good but honestly, the Sheffield gig was a new level.
If you have not yet seen Bulletproof or you have and you do not have tickets to this tour, you have time. The band are only 3 days into their 10 day tour which starts back up on the 16th of this month when they will be playing; Leeds, Bristol, Portsmouth, Southampton, Cardiff, Birmingham and London all of which have tickets remaining. I'm sure you definitely will not be disappointed.
