BANDICOOT are a four piece from Swansea who have now been together for nearly 3 years.

The band consists of Rhys Underdown (vocals, guitar, rhythm, saxophone and synth), Gareth Goss (lead guitar and vocals), Samuel Davies (bass) and Billy Stillman (drums).

Despite the music they produce being of an alternative/indie genre, the band, take individual inspiration from bands ranging from those with a rock 'n' roll style to those with a punk style.

They are currently working on their newest material to join their already released demos and EP 'Fuzzy'.

The boys have already embarked on tours across Wales and England which has allowed them the chance to gig in many different venues around the two countries. They even sold out some of their hometown gigs which with the band members aging from 18 to 19 years old is impressive.

The demo 'Everything I Need' was the 4th demo to be released by Bandicoot.

The song takes a slow gradual start with each instrument being recognised one by one alongside the synth background and the vocals. With this gradual start and the repeating of the song's title and other phrases being quite slow it may cause you to believe that the rest of the song will carry on the same way.

This is not the case, the tempo soon increases as the band break into the first verse.

The main theme is about being lonely and everything being a bit of a mess but having someone who brightens your day and you feel is everything you need even if they don't know it. Which as humans, we tend to feel like this on a day to day basis whether that person knows or they don't - this makes the song relatable.

I think it makes me like a song even more when I can relate to the lyrics and the story they are telling.

Towards the end of the song, there is a funkiness about it which made me want to dance a little and then the main lyric of the song 'you got everything I need' begins to be sung and by this point, I realised how catchy the song is and I found myself singing along.

Overall, I think this is a really good song - as are the others which you can find on the bands SoundCloud account.

If you are from Cardiff and live near The Undertone, you are in luck
you can catch the boys tonight at 8:50 supporting Bulletproof as there are still some tickets left on the door! Doors open at 8!
