JAM FOR MANCHESTER FUNDRAISER - 24/05/2017

Around 11:30pm on Monday night was when the news of the Manchester Arena attack began to receive live coverage on outlets such as Sky News. By Tuesday morning the whole of the UK awoke truly devastated by the events of the night before, particularly those of Manchester whose city had been violated and those most affected by the attack.
Brought with this most horrific attack came a real sense of humanity and solidarity within the people of Manchester, restoring some faith in the human race after some more of that had been stripped from so many people.
Showing that we will not be silenced thousands of Manchester's residents came out in full force to a vigil held at the Town Hall. Now, 3 days later even more humanity is being shown - particularly by way of fundraisers.
One which has caught my attention throughout the duration today is 'Jam For Manchester' which shall be taking place at Jimmy's bar in Manchester's Northern Quarter (Newton Street).
Tickets for this event shall be on-sale now ahead of the event next Wednesday (31st May) and can be purchased here.
All proceeds from tickets shall be going to charities supporting the victims and families of the victims of the attack. As well as ticket proceeds being donated to those attacked by the attack, the organisers of the festival; Bekka Simpson and Jake Fletcher with the help of Miriam Rahimov, Ellen Offredy, Abigail Richardson and Nicole Buzz aka MEAN Promotions have been able to in a very short amount of time gather numerous amazing raffle and auction prizes and all money raised by both of those shall also be donated as well as get a number of bands and artists to play the gig.
This is a superb effort on behalf of all the organisers, all the musicians who are set to play and all of those individuals who have donated prizes to the cause.
Prizes for the raffle and auction include (not all yet announced):
2 x tickets for Cotton Clouds Festival
2 x tickets for The Buzzcocks in Saddleworth

It is a must for music lovers to keep going to gigs and to remain doing so, we cannot be scared away by these events as they have won if we do so. This night will give you the chance to get back into your happy place while raising money to show support for those who are going through possibly the darkest time in their life.
If you cannot get down to the event I am sure that donations are still going to be widely accepted by the organisers so you should definitely get in contact with any of them if you cannot be in attendance but wish to do your bit for the fundraising or this can be done by heading over to the ticket sale page and buying a raffle ticket or two!
To keep up with everything in terms of the event you can access the Facebook page for it
here.

Thank you.
